A Natural Remedy For Mange

My adorable, chunky little Yorkie somehow managed to acquire mange.  After some research I discovered it is caused by a tiny little mite.  I was noticing her itching like crazy, and developing almost a cradle cap type of buildup on her skin, and it smelled.  Then the tufts of hair all over the house, and scabs on her body. 

I hate to use chemicals on her as her skin is so sensitive, so I tried using lavender essential oil and soy gel, but that only helped relieve the symptoms for short periods of time.  I even tried rubbing cooking oil on her skin in places where she itched the most, but that too only worked in short time spans.

My online research found that Neem is a good, all natural way to rid the dog of mange.  While most seemed to find it worked, a few folks said it had not.  At this point I was willing to try it.

SwissJust sells a new Neem product for children who get head lice.  I purchased the shampoo, lotion and spray.  Now, I opted to not use the lotion because the instructions say to put it on the child's head and wrap it in plastic wrap for 90 minutes.  There is no way this dog was going to allow for that, so instead I used the shampoo.  I gave her a bath, lathering and rinsing twice.  The second time I left it on for 3 minutes as the directions indicated, then rinsed and towel dried her.Then I sprayed the spray on the scabbed areas and areas she had been itching.

She went a full week with no itching, and the tufts of hair stopped falling out! The scabs were healing very nicely too.  Now, after about 9 days she developed that smelly, ear wax like build up (cradle cap) on her skin in places and was starting to itch again. I don't know the life cycle of the mite so I figure eggs were layed that have now hatched so I bathed her again yesterday.  Again, no more itching and the skin is in great shape, no flaky dry areas. 

I am happy to report that this product seems to work very well for fighting the mange!  I will be recommending it to anyone with a mangy pup!

Party In Your PJs!!!

I really do LOVE going to direct sales parties, they can be such a good time and I love learning about new products and business opportunities.  The trouble with parties is the consultant conducting the party for the hostess always needs bookings, because that is how the business customer base grows.

I LOVE Pampered Chef for example, but I just don't have that many friends who have time to break away and spend a few hours at my home checking out cookware so that my consultant can grow her business and I can earn hostess credits for a new ice cream scoop or one of those $100+ skillets I want so badly.  And to host I need to clean, cook etc to be ready for the party.

Spiders? Repel Them Naturally!

Anyone who knows me knows that I do not care for spiders one bit.  Even though a friend once told me that when I kill a spider, the spider spirits are coming after me.  I wonder at times if he was kidding or maybe had a few wires crossed?  Either way, I'm NOT catching them and letting them go in the wild to return to my home.  I will kill them, BAM!

Once it dries they will return.  But the lemon oil will last up to a week before you need to spritz areas again.

From Skeptic To SOLD!

When a friend of mine began working for the SwissJust company, I was skeptical.  Sure I had "heard" about essential oils and alternatives to taking medications to treat everything from a headache to warts, but never really "believed" it would work.

$10 Could Change Your Life

I was doing some reading last night, my all time favorite hobby, and for the second time in the past week I ran across a disturbing fact:  Most bankruptcies could be avoided if the person(s) filing had just $50 more a week.  Just $2,600 more a year could have meant keeping what they had and not having to start over. 

I was one of those people hanging by a thread above the pit of financial destruction, and while it is hard to believe, just $50 more a week in my hands would have given me a bit more 'rope' to hold on too.

There are those who could seriously enjoy life a bit more with $50 more a week to spend so they didn't feel like they had to scrape by each pay day.  $50 more a week could be the difference between "yes" and "no" when their children want to play sports, join a cheer leading squad, take dance or music lessons.

Many work-at-home opportunities are scams, where you have to send them $100 or more to receive a list of possible work clients seeking people to do work from home.  Sadly, if they had $100 they could part with for a "maybe" job they probably wouldn't be looking in the first place.

Other ways to work from home are party plan/direct sales businesses.  And yes you really can make money doing these but now that I am in direct sales with 2 companies I do realize some of the realities.  Party plan businesses are great fun, you get folks to host parties, they invite their friends, you show up and sell pots and pans, or candles, or jewelry and make money off those sales.  One of the 'hooks' is that you can make $300-500 in just 2 hours, you cannot make that working in an office where your hourly wage might be $12-20 per hour.  Well true, but not many party plan folks are doing 40 hours a week in just parties.  And the other issue being that the majority of goods sold at these parties are not consumable.  Jewelry is nice but you can only wear so much at a time.  Purses and bags rock my world too, but I only use one at a time and rarely need more anytime soon.  Don't get me wrong, some party plan businesses, like the one I am with (SwissJust) do sell things you will want more of fairly often, trouble is I'm already a very busy woman so the idea of having to find several hours a week to go do a party to make money is not so appealing.  It isn't just 2 hours, it is drive time, set up time, take down time so that 2 hours is more like 4 or 5 per party for a party plan business owner.  I love going to parties others are throwing, but again time is of the essence and I just don't have much of that.

Now, we are also all looking for a way to save money on our daily needs, in addition to making that $50 a week.

There is no catch...we don't buy anything we either don't need ourselves, or our customers don't order, unless we want it.   Just that $10 investment and there is no expensive kit to purchase.  Yes, I do purchase brochures, in fact I used to spend $20 and buy 100 of them each campaign.  I'm only spending $11 and getting 30 now.  Sometimes I buy samples (10 for $1) but mostly I just use the brochures and talk to folks when I'm out and they either call with an order or go to my free, Avon website that came with my $10 investment, and they buy and order direct to their own door.

So, how much do you need to sell to earn $50 a week?  If you placed an order of $300 every campaign (every 2 weeks), you would earn 35% ($105).  There is  your $50 a week.  How hard is it to sell $150 a week in Avon?  Not hard at all, if you are handing folks your brochure and following up to see what they need, you will consistently have orders of at least $300.  I submit the orders online every other week, it is delivered to my door, and I bag it up while I watch TV then deliver when I am out and about or some customers pick it up from me.

Gracefully Aging

We all want to look youthful, but as we age so does our skin.  Diet, exercise and drinking plenty of water certainly help in the fight against looking our age, but there is more to winning the battle.
