Vanity Crack Supports The Guys In Drag?

If you live on the west side of Cincinnati, you have no doubt heard of the Delhi Skirt Game.  This is the 34th year for this amazing tradition, and they that put it on claim it will be the best one so far, that the first 33 were rehearsal for this one.  One can only imagine!

SO what IS this shin dig?  Why, some of the best men in the Delhi Township area, put on dresses, wigs and makeup, and play softball to raise money that is given to carefully selected individuals in need in the community. The first skirt game was to benefit a teenager that had been paralyzed in an accident, to help with medical expenses.  500 people attended the first game, on September 15, 1977, and $2000 was raised to help the injured youth.  A tradition was born that day on the ball diamond, and the crowd and amount of money raised keeps increasing.  It is one of the best displays of community coming out to support those in need and have a great time.  Oh, and there is NO admission fee.

Many of the fire fighters, police officers, and men associated with the Delhi Athletic Association work hard throughout the year, as a committee, to host this event.  It has become part of the tradition that the game is held the first  Friday evening in August, complete with music, fire works and some local celebrity folk.  WKRC/Channel 12's Bob Herzog and former WUBE DJ, Amanda Orlando lead the event that is totally family oriented, despite the images you might drum up of hairy dudes in high heels.  It is one of the single best times and people come quite a distance to attend.

It is a festival of sorts, with all kinds of prizes raffled off at booths, everything donated and ALL proceeds going to the Skirt Game for those in need.  I've grown up on this crazy event taking place here, and several years have worked a booth to assist the Delhi Fire Division.  But this year is different.

This year, Team Diva Den, district 4156,  put their  heads together to figure out something we could do to show our support for this event.  An idea surfaced and grew and we contacted the Skirt Game committee.  We wanted to have our own Avon booth.  We presented the idea to the committee and were accepted into the fun.  We have donated over $1000 in Avon products to be raffled off throughout the game.  There  will be 8, Summer Swag bags with products (we're tossing in some great stuff with the original contents, approximate $100 value) and one grand prize, a huge gift box of $500 worth of Avon products for the entire family.

towel and sunglasses  NOT included, all other products shown plus some other great items in each bag!

Now....we need people  to come and purchase raffle tickets!  $1 each, 6 for $5 for the swag bags, one per half hour.  $5 per shot at the grand prize.  Please...come out and buy the tickets.  EVERY dime made on these raffles is going to the Skirt Game so the more you buy, the more you help!

ALSO the skirt game is hosting the first EVER tailgate party for the game, Thursday, August 4th!!!  Avon's Team Diva Den will be there too, with free samples, brochures,  and a FREE raffle for a 5 piece bath & body collection from the Avon naturals line.  All you have to do is show up and fill out a raffle form to be eligible, and you do not need to be present to win it at the end of the party!
